Our Staff Members

Dr. Jennifer Adams, Scientific Advisor

Jennifer is a freshwater scientist with nearly 20 years of experience studying and conserving lakes, rivers, and wetlands. Her work has focused on how climate change, hydrological changes, and pollution, including microplastics, affect freshwater ecosystems across Canada and internationally.

Jennifer completed her PhD in limnology in 2017 at University College London in the UK, and has held research positions at the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto. Jennifer has extensive experience in collaborative leadership, working with community partners and government agencies, and sharing findings through scientific publications and reports.

Jennifer has a passion for community-driven conservation, and contributes her expertise in freshwater sciences and a deep commitment to freshwater stewardship to the work of the Biosphere Association.

Mia Toose, Office Manager

Mia Toose is the Office Manager at the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association, where she supports the organization’s mission to protect biodiversity, foster sustainable communities, and connect people with the natural environment of the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula. With a background in human services, operations, and community-based initiatives, Mia brings a thoughtful, people-centered approach to her work. She oversees financial tracking and reporting, supports grant writing and fundraising efforts, manages digital platforms and communications, and serves as a key point of contact for members, volunteers, and partners.

Mia’s career reflects a strong commitment to community engagement and organizational excellence. From leading front-office operations in tourism and managing projects in the non-profit sector, to founding and running her own business, she has developed a versatile skill set spanning administration, customer service, and entrepreneurship. Her experience also includes board leadership and grant evaluation within the Grey Bruce region, reinforcing her dedication to collaboration and local economic development.

Mia has also built a deep personal connection to the region through her passion for adventure and exploration. A professional scuba instructor and stand-up paddleboarder, Mia first discovered the Peninsula in 2005 and made it her permanent home in 2019. Mia's favourite pastime is exploring the shoreline, above and below the surface, and immersing herself in the area’s unique ecosystems, further strengthening her commitment to protecting and celebrating this unique landscape. Caeli Mazara, EcoAdventures Guide, Communications and Marketing for Bruce Peninsula Gravel Gran Fondo 

Caeli assists in running the Gravel Gran Fondo and works as a guide with EcoAdventures, where she helps connect people to the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula through immersive outdoor adventures. A dedicated beekeeper, gardener, and backpacker, Caeli brings both hands-on experience and a deep respect for the natural world to her work. She is especially passionate about protecting Ontario’s diverse and fragile ecosystems and promoting sustainable local tourism. Caeli has been actively involved with the BPBA since 2020.

2026 Seasonal Conservation Staff

Anna King, Conservation & Community Outreach Coordinator

A professional restoration ecologist working with the land, plants, and communities of Ontario in both the urban built environment and wild natural areas. Anna has gained extensive seed collection and plant propagation experience, combined with planning & executing remedial action plans, and growing nursery stock for a variety of revegetative projects. Since 2020 she has lived in Annan, northeast of Owen Sound, where she runs The Greenery: Ecological Farm & Native Plant Nursery, a small farm dedicated to providing locally genetic native plant and seed stock for regional restoration projects & services. 

She is thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful ecological projects on the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula with the BPBA as Anna believes it an honour to steward this land and a privilege to connect others to a meaningful sense of place.

Arenn Osadzuk, Environmental Technician (Canada Summer Jobs Participant)

Arenn has just started as one of BPBA's Environmental Technicians. She will be working closely with those contributing to the Six Streams Program on water quality monitoring and restoration of the Eastnor Swamp property. Arenn spent most summers at her family cottage in Oliphant admiring the unique flora of the coastal wetlands and is looking forward to now contributing to the conservation of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula. With an academic background in microbiology and multiple professional experiences in the field of invasive species, Arenn brings a unique skillset to her role. Starting a Masters in Forestry Management and Limnology in the Fall, Arenn is excited to spend time learning about water quality techniques while aiding in the success of the Six Streams Project.
