Dr. Jennifer Adams, Scientific Advisor
Jennifer is a freshwater scientist with nearly 20 years of experience studying and conserving lakes, rivers, and wetlands. Her work has focused on how climate change, hydrological changes, and pollution, including microplastics, affect freshwater ecosystems across Canada and internationally.
Jennifer completed her PhD in limnology in 2017 at University College London in the UK, and has held research positions at the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto. Jennifer has extensive experience in collaborative leadership, working with community partners and government agencies, and sharing findings through scientific publications and reports.
Jennifer has a passion for community-driven conservation, and contributes her expertise in freshwater sciences and a deep commitment to freshwater stewardship to the work of the Biosphere Association.
Mia Toose, Office Manager
Mia Toose is the Office Manager at the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association, where she supports the organization’s mission to protect biodiversity, foster sustainable communities, and connect people with the natural environment of the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula. With a background in human services, operations, and community-based initiatives, Mia brings a thoughtful, people-centered approach to her work. She oversees financial tracking and reporting, supports grant writing and fundraising efforts, manages digital platforms and communications, and serves as a key point of contact for members, volunteers, and partners.
Mia’s career reflects a strong commitment to community engagement and organizational excellence. From leading front-office operations in tourism and managing projects in the non-profit sector, to founding and running her own business, she has developed a versatile skill set spanning administration, customer service, and entrepreneurship. Her experience also includes board leadership and grant evaluation within the Grey Bruce region, reinforcing her dedication to collaboration and local economic development.
Mia has also built a deep personal connection to the region through her passion for adventure and exploration. A professional scuba instructor and stand-up paddleboarder, Mia first discovered the Peninsula in 2005 and made it her permanent home in 2019. Mia's favourite pastime is exploring the shoreline, above and below the surface, and immersing herself in the area’s unique ecosystems, further strengthening her commitment to protecting and celebrating this unique landscape. Caeli Mazara, EcoAdventures Guide, Communications and Marketing for Bruce Peninsula Gravel Gran Fondo
Caeli assists in running the Gravel Gran Fondo and works as a guide with EcoAdventures, where she helps connect people to the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula through immersive outdoor adventures. A dedicated beekeeper, gardener, and backpacker, Caeli brings both hands-on experience and a deep respect for the natural world to her work. She is especially passionate about protecting Ontario’s diverse and fragile ecosystems and promoting sustainable local tourism. Caeli has been actively involved with the BPBA since 2020.
2026 Seasonal Conservation Staff

Anna King, Conservation & Community Outreach Coordinator
A professional restoration ecologist working with the land, plants, and communities of Ontario in both the urban built environment and wild natural areas. Anna has gained extensive seed collection and plant propagation experience, combined with planning & executing remedial action plans, and growing nursery stock for a variety of revegetative projects. Since 2020 she has lived in Annan, northeast of Owen Sound, where she runs The Greenery: Ecological Farm & Native Plant Nursery, a small farm dedicated to providing locally genetic native plant and seed stock for regional restoration projects & services.
Arenn Osadzuk, Environmental Technician (Canada Summer Jobs Participant)
Arenn began as one of BPBA's Environmental Technicians in early May 2026. She works closely with those contributing to the Six Streams Program on water quality monitoring and restoration of the Eastnor Swamp property. Arenn spent most summers at her family cottage in Oliphant admiring the unique flora of the coastal wetlands and is looking forward to now contributing to the conservation of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula. With an academic background in microbiology and multiple professional experiences in the field of invasive species, Arenn brings a unique skillset to her role. Starting a Masters in Forestry Management and Limnology in the Fall, Arenn is excited to spend time learning about water quality techniques while aiding in the success of the Six Streams Project.
Willem Jacobson, Forestry Conservation & Community Outreach Coordinator (ECO Canada)
Willem Jacobson is the Forestry Conservation & Community Outreach Coordinator for the Bruce
Peninsula Biosphere Association (BPBA) since June 2026. He graduated in 2024 with a degree & diploma from the Ecological Restoration program of Trent University and Fleming College. He previously worked for the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) as an Ecological Restoration Intern in 2025 and developed skills in environmental monitoring of invasive species and species at risk. Willem has participated in restoration activities including tree and wildflower planting and prescribed fire and learned about conservation strategies and environmental stewardship best practices. His looks forward to bringing the same commitment to his studies and past positions to his current role with the BPBA. Willem enjoys being outside, biking, rock climbing and spending time with friends.
Kaitlyn Lenhart, Environmental Technician (ECO Canada)
Kaitlyn joined the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association in June 2026 as an Environmental Technician. She is a graduate of the University of Windsor with a degree in Environmental Science. Growing up, Kaitlyn spent every summer vacationing at her family’s cottage in the Northern Bruce Peninsula, where she developed a deep appreciation for the region’s beautiful landscapes and natural environment. Prior to joining BPBA, she spent a summer working at Bruce Peninsula National Park, where she valued the opportunity to help steward the area and connect people with nature. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, and spending time outdoors. Kaitlyn is excited to support BPBA’s conservation efforts through forest and wetland restoration projects while also engaging with and supporting the local community.
Olivia Denny, Digital Marketer (Canada Summer Jobs Participant)
Olivia Denny is the Digital Marketer at the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association. She is a recent graduate from the University of Waterloo majoring in Fine Arts. It is through the University of Waterloo's co-op programs that she has built considerable experience in the field of digital marketing, including while working as the Recruitment Content Writer for the Faculty of Environment. She is eager to take these skills and make meaningful connections with the community on the Peninsula while also doing her part to make an environmental impact with the Biosphere Association.
Francesca Borromeo, Natural Sciences Manager - Bayside Astronomy (Canada Summer Jobs Participant)
Francesca graduated with a BSc. in Biology specializing in Evolution, Ecology, and Behaviour. BPBA's missions and goals align perfectly with everything she studied, so she was incredibly excited to join the organization. Francesca worked with Bayside Astronomy in 2025 as well and completely fell in love with the program, the team, and the peninsula! She has always had an interest in astronomy, but last season really locked in that passion for her. She is so excited to be back for the 2026 season as one of three Natural Sciences Managers (Bayside Astronomy) and to keep building on everything they've started.
Grace Jaklitsch, Natural Sciences Manager - Bayside Astronomy (Canada Summer Jobs Participant)
Grace is a History major and Visual Arts minor at the University of Guelph, and has visited the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula with her family every summer for the past 13 years. She loves this region and is dedicated to preserving the wonderful nature that makes it so unique, and working with Bayside Astronomy and the Biosphere gives her the perfect opportunity to do exactly that. She first worked with the program in the summer of 2024, and the amazing people and surroundings have brought her back ever since! Grace's appreciation for history and art gives her a unique perspective into the cultural aspects of astronomy and the night sky, which she uses to tell some of the myths behind the constellations and to breakdown our history with the stars!
