Bruce Peninsula Geology

Join local ecologist and naturalist Jenna McGuire (McGuire's Illustrated Guide) on a ramble along the coast and into the forest. We will explore ancient rocky reefs, globally rare sand dunes, riverine features, karst features and glacial scours at the edge of a stunning wetland. We will also talk about the rich cultural history of the area and learn more about the Stokes Bay coastal wetland and island archipelago. There are some lovely botanical wonders along the trail as well. Learn about how the beach came to be and how much more there is to explore! Jenna will bring examples of the Peninsula's West Coast "Mega-Mollusc" fossils and other rock specimens along as well.

Wear a hat, hiking boots or sturdy running shoes, dress for weather conditions, bring water and snacks. Max 20 participants. Please RSVP below.
