Restoring the Flow: Join Our Community Native Tree Planting Event

We’re restoring the Eastnor Swamp! 🌿💧

The Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association acquired a wetland (part of the Eastnor Swamp, that is part of a significant remnant portion of wetland on the peninsula) in 2023 through a land purchase for conservation and restoration purposes. This property, near the headwater of Judges Creek, the source of which is a karst spring, was altered by a manmade channel that has been draining the greater wetland area. Part of the restoration of this property has involved restoring the water flow to its original state - Learn More.

This important wetland plays a key role in protecting water quality, supporting wildlife, and building climate resilience on the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula. Friday June 12th at 10am, we will be planting native tree species along the trail. A light lunch will be provided. Join us for this community planting event and hands-on restoration activities—be part of protecting this special place!

Wear a hat & gloves, hiking boots or sturdy running shoes, dress for weather conditions, bring water and snacks.
