  • Connect with the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association and our mission
  • Learn why choosing native species matters for your plantings
  • Build relationships with fellow community members and nature stewards

This workshop is presented by Anna King, the BPBA's Conservation & Community Outreach Coordinator. Anna is a professional restoration ecologist that works with the land, plants, and communities of Ontario in both the urban built environment and wild natural areas. Anna has gained extensive seed collection and plant propagation experience throughout her career, including planning & executing remedial action plans and growing nursery stock for a variety of revegetative projects. Since 2020 she has lived in Annan, northeast of Owen Sound, where she runs The Greenery: Ecological Farm & Native Plant Nursery, a small farm dedicated to providing locally genetic native plant and seed stock for regional restoration projects & services.

We will meet at the Eastnor Wetland at 10am for a short presentation and a hands-on experience where you will participate in a propagation activity of taking cuttings from native plants. Participants will go home with 24 plug plants with clear instructions for care at home and transplanting.

This event will be held outdoors, rain or shine. Please check the weather before you come, and dress accordingly with closed-toed shoes. Light refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to everyone.
