Birding 101

Come out and discover the joy of birdwatching. Join local birders Pat and Rod Sein to learn about birding basics. (Experts are welcome too!)

We will begin with a discussion about the starting principles for entry level birdwatchers -- what to look for when you see a bird, what to listen for, the size, shape, and activity of the bird, and habitat where you see the bird. Then we will go on a short, easy hike to use your new skills to identify birds.

Wear a hat, hiking boots or sturdy running shoes, dress for weather conditions, bring water and snacks. Bring your binoculars. Max 10 participants.
